A Season of Renewal

Spring on the farm

March - May

As daffodils bloom, acequias flow and spring awakens life on the farm, the air holds a tangible sense of inspiration. Peonies and roses usher us into the full display of late spring in the gardens. Farmers are busy planting while the culinary team eagerly anticipates the first tender asparagus, spring greens and the abundance of summer to come. Our calendar is bursting with opportunities to experience this beautiful season of renewal and growth.

celebrating 90 YEARS

This year marks 90 years since Albert and Ruth Simms began operating the ranch as an experimental farm, dairy, nursery and center for arts, culture and education, a legacy we endeavor to preserve on a daily basis. The Dr. Armin Rembe Lecture Series celebrates the rich history of our state this spring with presentations on the New Mexico Historic Women Marker Program and photographing New Mexico’s historic churches.

Garden Season

As our historic gardens come alive, guests can enjoy tours and floral crafting workshops using native and cultivated botanicals from the farm. We celebrate the delicious nourishing qualities of tea with a special Tea Talk and artisanal Tea Blending Workshop with Tea.o.graphy and our annual Mother’s Day Tea. The Farm Shop is ready for the season with lavender starts, seeds tools and more.

AT THE TABLE

We are excited to host an extraordinary wine-paired dinner at La Quinta with Evan Martin of Martin Woods Winery, one of our favorite winemakers. Our culinary and wine team worked closely with Evan to create a dining experience with a unique sense of place. For a different kind of pairing, join our inaugural Literary Luncheon at La Quinta with bestselling author Hampton Sides.

REJUVENATE and refresh

Seasonal treatments at the Hacienda Spa include a spring facial crafted to nourish and restore, an enhancement designed for seasonal allergy relief, and the luxurious 1934 Treatment inspired by the historic tile inscribed with La Vida Generosa. Get active with yoga and Pilates classes in our Wellness Yurt, or take a walk, run or bike ride along the Rio Grande Bosque.
