What better setting to learn the art of drawing and painting in the field? Directed towards those interested in travel or leisure sketching, as well as design professionals, courses taught at Los Poblanos will focus on one subject at a time, allowing students to select which skills they most want to develop. Classes will be limited to 6-12 students where students can experience one-on-one instruction from the extensive experience of instructor Terrance Brown.
This course covers basic techniques and compositional elements that make a drawing a good one. Beginners and more advanced students are welcome.
Terrance Brown, FAIA, is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He developed his pen and ink sketching style as a student of architecture at Texas Tech University and continues to illustrate and record his travels around the globe. His drawings are published in a recent Architectural Record magazine, and illustrate the book titled Building Security, Handbook for Architectural Planning and Design-2004 by McGraw Hill. He is also showcased as an illustrator in Jim Leggitt’s book titled Drawing Shortcuts 2nd Edition-2010 by John Wiley and Sons and it is expected a book of his own work will be published in the spring of 2014.
