Summer Lunch & Booksigning with Deborah Madison
Start Time: 10:00 am
End Time: 12:00 pm
In her latest cookbook, Vegetable Literacy, Deborah Madison, America’s leading authority on vegetable cooking, reveals the surprising relationships between vegetables, edible flowers, and herbs within the same botanical families, and how understanding these connections can help home cooks see everyday vegetables in new light.
Deborah will give a lively talk on plant families and who's who in the garden and in the kitchen, followed by a light summer lunch based on recipes from her book and vegetables from the farm.
"Connecting people to the food they eat, its source and its history, has long been my work, and writing is one way to reveal the deeper culture of food. My interests lay with issues of biodiversity, seasonal and local eating, farmers markets, small and mid-scale farming, farmers and ranchers, gardens and gardeners." -Deborah Madison
